London Life: 1940
This page shows, in date order, London Life magazine front covers from 1940. This year saw the start of the London Blitz. On December 29, for example, 10,000 incendiary bombs were dropped on the capital. A prime target for the fire bombs was the paper-filled publishers’ warehouses and printing works around Fleet St – where London Life was produced in Wine Office Court – and St Paul’s Cathedral.
